  Choice & Change

If we marry the words ‘choice’ and ‘change’, VARIETY is born! And variety is very important, whether you live to eat or eat to live because it spells enjoyment as well as gives nourishment.

A balanced diet sustains wellness and what better way of balancing foods than through variety. As no single food contains all nutrients, you need a varied diet to get your full set of nutrients. Variety also prevents you from loading up on a food that may become detrimental. For example, if you indulge in french fries everyday, you will load up on fats. Let’s see how we can create varied meals.

Playing with colours, textures, tastes and aromas
One easy way of creating variety is by using ingredients of assorted colours, textures, tastes and aromas. Vegetables are the most versatile. Take a look at a dish of stir-fried carrot cogwheels, spears of baby corn, florets of broccoli and wedges of tomatoes. We have put together a riot of colours, interesting shapes, different textures and varied tastes, all in one dish.

Employing different methods of cooking

Variety can also transform a whole meal, from unappetizing to mouth-watering. Let’s tweak this menu that lacks colour and creativity – steamed pomfret, fried cabbage, steamed tofu, white rice and a glass of lime juice. How about steamed pomfret, cabbage curry, fried crispy tofu ala Thai, white rice and a glass of orange juice? We have added colours and also enhanced the tastes by using different cooking methods. To further expand variety, try the many types of MAGGI® Hari-Hari Favourites. These recipe mixes allow you to cook a variety of popular Malay, Chinese or Indian dishes that will definitely capture your family’s tastebuds.

Breaking away from the norm

Be adventurous, that’s what we are saying. If breakfast has always been cold bread and butter, switch to a hot bowl of MAGGI® Rice Porridge. If your family always indulges in local foods when eating out, be adventurous and explore the cuisines of the world beyond, from Vietnamese sensations to European delights. The change in tastes and even ambience will perk up your senses and enrich your food experiences.  Let variety spice up your tastebuds and your life!
