Here are a few easy-to-follow steps on how to cook rice on a stove-top.
What You Will Need:

Pot with a lid
Measure the amount of rice needed and place it in a pot. Rinse it under cold running water.
For each cup of rice, you will need 1 ¾ cups of water. Pour in the right amount of water into the pot and let it boil.
Add the rice to the boiling water. Next, cover the pot with a lid and wait for the rice to cook.
Then, turn the heat to low and allow the rice to simmer for about 18 minutes. Don’t lift the lid when the rice is cooking. Let the rice finish cooking in its own steam.
When the rice is cooked, take the pot off the heat. Leave the lid on and let the rice steam in the pot for another 5 minutes.
Finally, fluff the rice with a fork and serve it with your favourite curry and stir-fry.
