Village Style Fried Rice

Bring the familiar traditional taste into your home for your family


2 tablespoons corn oil
3 cloves garlic, pounded
1 onion, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon dried anchovies, soaked and softened
4 green bird's eye chillies, pounded
100 g chicken breast, deboned and skinned, thinly sliced
1½ teaspoon MAGGI® CukupRasa™
1 egg, beaten
600 g cooked rice (preferably day-old rice)
100 g water spinach, thinly sliced
fried anchovies for garnishing

Good to Know

Rice is a good source of carbohydrate and is also our body's primary energy source.


1. In a wok, heat up the oil and add the garlic and onion. Sauté until fragrant for 2 minutes.

2. Next, add in the dried anchovies, bird's eye chillies, chicken and MAGGI® CukupRasa™.

3. Then, crack the egg into the wok and cook it all together for 4 minutes.

4. Next, add the rice and water spinach, stir-fry everything together for 4 minutes until well combined and cooked.

5. Serve the dish while it’s still hot with fried eggs, fried salted fish, fried fish crackers, or cucumber slices on the side.
