It’s that time of the year again. Families are already preparing to catch a plane, train, bus or even drive up to that holiday destination of their choice. Whatever the mode of transportation, families with young children need to take a little extra effort when travelling to make sure that the children are comfortable while travelling. While keeping them entertained is one thing, keeping them well-fed is even more important.

With a bit of know-how on what types of snacks or food to pack for your children, your trip won’t be such a hassle anymore. 

What to pack?

One-bite cookies (not the ones that crumble)

Cereal

Crackers and chips

Bread with their favourite jam or cheese

Dried fruits

Baby carrots and cherry tomatoes

Granola bars

Muffins

Avoid bringing along large chunks of food that may turn into a choking hazard – whole grapes, nuts or popcorns. Cut the foods into smaller pieces as these are ideal when feeding in a moving vehicle. These snacks should be easy to hold for the children, easy to eat, not messy, crumbly or sticky.
